The State of web mapping API’s

A very interesting blog article on web mapping API’s on the O’Reilly site was brought to my attention.

The state of web mapping API’s – by Adam DuVander, author of Map Scripting 101, looks at the trends in the main providers of online mapping and how the main players have emerged in this sector over the past 5 years.  It also looks at the response of the hackers and their shift from API’s to server side activities.  The article is quite short but is packed with links and well worth a read during a 5 minute coffee break.
